This is Arnold Palmer in his later years in a very pensive pose.  I used charcoal pencil here due to the high contrast
of light to dark in the image. Arnold Palmer, of course, was the "father of modern day golf", and not only one of the greatest professional golfers ever, but " the ambassador" for all golfers everywhere.  He paved the way for all golfers worldwide, and he is the very reason why they enjoy all the benefits they have today.

Arnie, in his prime, was a very exciting pro golfer and became associated with the phrase "Arnie's army" for the 
throngs of fans who followed him from hole to hole on the professional tour!

He was loved by all, and his recent death inspired me to draw a portrait of him for my portfolio!
